Coming from a country with cold & long winters I know how to appreciate the special charm of Rhodes during the winter period, with temperatures that allow you to enjoy outside life without getting cold or freezing. If you have the time and the opportunity to skip the cold weather by leaving home during those miserable months, you should definitely consider the option of spending your time on Rhodes Island.

Rhodes in winter time gives you a good look at the real Greek daily life. With hardly any tourists around, it will be easy for you to mingle with the Greeks and to share their way of living. Although many restaurants in the more touristic areas will be closed, the true Greek taverns will be open and most villages are very lively. In Rhodes city life just goes on with it's famous casino and many exquisite restaurants .

About Diving

or first time divers the Waterhoppers offers a one day Discover Scuba Program at its dive sites of Kalithea, Kolymbia and Pefkos. Please specify dive site when booking.

In Kalithea only Watherhoppers offer a snorkeling program.

For those of you who wish to learn to dive Waterhoppers offer all PADI courses from Scuba Diver to Divemaster at their dive sites of Kalithea, Kolymbia and Pefkos.

For qualified divers the Waterhoppers Diving School can offer a wide variety if dive sites to suit all qualifications. Waterhoppers dive in Kalithea, Ladiko, Kolymbia, Lindos, Pefkos and Plimiri.

As i know from my Gay friends & customers it's quite difficult to find appropriate gay-owned or gay-friendly accommodations & services when traveling to Rhodes. It seems that many of the gay guides to Rhodes are outdated & poorly maintained. About History

Rhodes (Greek: Ρόδος, Ródos, /ˈroðos/) is a Greek island approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) southwest of Turkey in the eastern Aegean Sea. It is the largest of the Dodecanese islands in terms of both land area and population, with a population of 117,007[1] of which 53,709 resided in the homonymous capital city of the island.

Historically, Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The medieval Old Town of the City of Rhodes has been declared a World Heritage Site.

About Ferries

The largest island of the Dodecanese is Rhodes, also known as the island of the Sun. The capital, City of Rhodes, is like a valuable coin with two faces. One face, “heads”, is the old town, a fairy-tale place surrounded by medieval walls and traversed by the Street of the Knights of St. John. On either side of the road is the old town with the “Inns”, the hospital of the Knights and the palace of the Grand Master. The other face, “tails”, is the modern city with an intense nightlife, broad streets, beautiful buildings, large hotels, and hundreds of shops where anything can be found. The entire island is crammed with sights worth seeing, from the archeological sites to the fabulous beaches, from the valley with the butterflies to the ruins of ancient Rhodes, from the Acropolis of Lindos to the archeological sites at Kameiros (Kamiros) and Ialysos (Ialissos).
