It is famous for The Great Field, a medieval system of strip farming believed to be one of only two remaining in the country. The Tarka Trail starts in the village and follows the estuary up stream. Home to Tiki, Second Skin and Salt Rock, Braunton is the centre of the surfing community and boasts a varied choice of surfing shops, Banks, Take aways, food shops, Restaurants, Character Pubs and the Tourist Information Centre. Between Saunton and Braunton is the famous Braunton Burrows, UNESCO has designated the Burrows, Braunton Marsh and Great Field the first Biosphere in the United Kingdom. Tastefully decorated in chocolate shades with a sumptious bold gold and brown accent wall this room also has a double sized chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets with colour co-ordinated bedside lamps. Up the stairs is the Master bedroom having a Victorian feel the room has a king size bed with 2 matching bedside cabinets and a large dressing table with a hair dryer. Hanging space on the back of the door. This room looks out towards the hillside of Croyde where you can often watch the Roylands riding stables ponies grazing and the walkers rambling across the Saunton Downs. Decorated in pastel shades of pink and cream this is a nice restful retreat. The 3rd bedroom is a children’s bunk room, 2 sets of pine bunks, a chest of drawers, a large double wardrobe and still plenty of floor space for games and playing. Nice aqua and cream shades make this a great children’s space. The upstairs Bathroom has a toilet, washbasin and shower.
