Casa Muralla sits at the highest point in the traditional Spanish village of La Atalaya. It has recently been renovated to a very high standard. You will find everything that you need to make this a real home from home. The village has 2 shops, 2 bars and a bakery. The town of Villanueva de Algaidas is just 5 minutes away. For those lazy days, you have the use of the owner’s pool just 100 metres away. The pool also incorporates a jacuzzi and a current in the main pool to swim against. There is also a pool table, sun loungers and table and chairs. For those that whish to keep in touch with home wi-fi is available on the patio by the swimming pool. We also have a net/note book that you may use to collect your e-mails. The Pool The swimming pool has a shallow end, with steps in the water, to make it easy for you to get in/out. There is also a shaded Jaccuzi for those lazy moments. Lounge The front door to the property leads into this large open comfortable space, with high ceilings and double aspect windows, so there is plenty of light. There is satellite TV and a DVD player. DVDs can be borrowed from the owners at no extra charge. There is a portable gas heater, to take the chill off the room if it’s a bit nippy at night,(gas bottles can be provided at cost price). For your comfort, there are three leather sofas; 2 two seater sofas and 1 three seater. We have retained as many of the original features as possible and this room benefits from many, which include the recess on the side wall; a small archway to a little hide-away and a beam above the door to the hallway. For total privacy and to keep the heat out during the day, the windows have been fitted with ‘persianas’/blinds, typically found in Spanish homes. These are roller shutters which completely block out the light, so if you’re trying to watch TV during the day and the sun is beating down, you don’t have to worry about trying to pull the curtains across to stop the glare on the screen. Kitchen This is a newly fitted kitchen, incorporating a dishwasher, microwave combi oven/grill, oven and hob, extractor hood, electric kettle, toaster, fridge, with freezer compartment, and there is also a washing machine. In addition, we have also added a full height fridge/freezer, (half and half), for the overspill of holiday food/drink. All of the home from home utensils, plates, cups, pots and pans are provided and if you are missing something from home, just ask us during your stay and I am sure we will be able to provide you with whatever it is you want. There is a portable radio/CD player. Dining Area This is an open plan space, within the same room as the kitchen. This provides seating for 6 people and a dining table. This means whoever is cooking the meals does not get excluded from the party! Master Bedroom This room has a Juliet balcony with far reaching views over the village and to open countryside. There is a double bed, with fly net over, so you can sleep with the doors open, without being bitten by mosquitoes. We can provide you with additional, clean bedding during your stay, without extra charge. There is a fan to keep you cool on those balmy evenings. All the furniture is solid wood – none of that cheap laminate furniture you often find in holiday properties and there are plenty of good quality hangers in the double wardrobe! This room benefits from ‘persianas’, which are roller shutters which completely block out the light, from the balcony doors and the window; typically found in Spanish properties. Bedroom 2 Again, this is a double bedroom, with a window to the side of the property. The bed is brand new and has a ‘luxury’ mattress and all the furniture is solid wood. There is plenty of room in the double wardrobe, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers to put your belongings; No living out of your suitcase here. No doubt you’ve been on holiday before where there is nowhere to put all your clothes. There is a fan in this room too. Bedroom 3 This is the smallest of the three bedrooms; situated at the front of the house; again, with far reaching views across the village and open countryside. There are bunk beds, a double wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. There is also a fan. There is a DVD player in this room, so the kids can watch a DVD, whilst you relax in peace, or why not bring their favourite games and plug them into the back of the TV? This room benefits from ‘persianas’, which are roller shutters which completely block out the light, so you can put the kids to bed in the middle of the day, for a siesta and pretend it’s night time! Shower Room This is situated downstairs, off the kitchen. It is a wet room, with wash hand basin, shower, toilet and bathroom cabinet. There is a window in this room but has obscured glass. Bathroom This is upstairs in the property and has a full length bath, (not the usual Spanish baths designed for midgets), hydro-massage shower, wash hand basin with mirrored cabinet above, with light above; bidet, cabinet for storing towels, or toiletries and toilet. This is a light airy room – plenty of light spills in from the glass bricks above. Views from Roof Terrace The views from the roof terrace speak for themselves. There is outdoor furniture here for your use and plenty of space for soaking up the sun, including a small private area for topless sunbathing! There is an outside light, so you can sit up here during the evening and soak up those breath taking sunsets. The roof terrace is accessed via a staircase leading up from the house. This is a safe area for children; as there are railings all around. All the stairs in the house have a strong handrail for your safety. In the airing cupboard you will find an ironing board, iron, mop/bucket, (if the desire takes you!). There are no hidden charges for extras, like electricity/laundry. This house is truly home from home and has been decorated and furnished to a high standard.
