Sympathetically renovated house in the mountain village of Liboreiro only 4 kms above the pretty riverside town of Gois. From the entrance hall on the ground floor are two double bedrooms both with ensuite facilities and walk in closets. The staircase leads up to the first floor where there is a small study area, landing/cloakroom and utility room with WC wash basin and washing machine.There is a well appointed open plan living/dining /kitchen with woodburner for those cooler nights. There is a small terrace leading off the kitchen to the rear from where you can watch the sun rise and a large terrace leading off from the living room to the front from where you can see the beautiful sunsets, both with superb views and furnished with patio furniture. The pretty walled garden at the rear has an outside kitchen with built in BBQ, bread oven and sink unit where you will find table and chairs for al fresco dining. The lounge has a folding bed for that extra guest, there is a TV, DVD player and a selection of disks, books and games also broadband. The kitchen has all the requirements of self catering, gas cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and cafetiere. The garden is secure so that children cannot wander and has a colourful array of plants and trees. A couple of minutes walk to one end of the village, take the newly built marble steps down to the cool Font where you can fill your water bottle from the crystal clear spring water or walk to the other end of the village where you can picnic in the shade of the huge oak trees. The sky is so clear that stargazing is a must, it is wonderful to sit out on a summers evening with a glass of wine taking in the miriad of stars or during the day sit in the garden and hear the woodpeckers, the cuckoos and spot the eagles when you hear their call. Just the place to recharge your batteries. Here you have the best of both worlds the peace and tranqility of the mountains but only 4 kms to the Town of Gois for the shops, cafes and bars. It is only a five minute drive on a morning for freshly baked rolls for your breakfast. There are two huge fig trees in the village square which bears enough fruit for everyone as well as those who come to pick the harvest. The Romans came to this area centuries ago for its rich mineral deposits to extract gold, silver and lead and some of the caves can still be found in the surrounding hills. There are walks in every direction from the house and a slight climb to the top of the mountain where you get a 360 degree view over the breathtaking panorama. You can wander around the medieval town of Gois with its narrow cobbled streets and lovely market square, stroll along the riverside walk and see the fish swimming in the clear waters or take the children to play on the sandy beach and paddle in the shallow waters or swim in the deeper pools. This is just the place to recharge your batteries!
