The Old Cinema Consall Staffordshire selfcatering United Kingdom

Prices from £280 per Week
The Old Cinema is a haven of tranquility set in Staffordshire's Consall Valley, adjoining the stunning Churnet Valley. It is ideal for nature lovers, train/canal enthusiasts, walkers and bird watchers. A quirky converted home cinema, set in fabulous gardens, provides comfortable self catering for 2+ This delightful split level apartment is attached to an unusual 1950s' country house "Wildacres", renowned for its fabulous views over the surrounding countryside. Movie-themed and brightly decorated, it makes an unusual and comfortable base from which to explore the unspoiled Churnet valley, the Staffordshire Moorlands, Leek, Cheadle, the Potteries and Peak District, and the charming towns of Stone and Ashbourne. We are proud to be in the Consall Nature Reserve which hosts wildlife, walking trails and leads down to the Churnet valley famous, for its Steam valley railway, Caldon canal and River Churnet. It is very peaceful. (but only 25 minutes from Alton Towers and the Potteries Shopping Centres ) The stunning Consall Hall Gardens is right next door and The Black Lion pub is just a mile away, both situated in the most stunning scenery. Our beautiful 3 and a half acre garden has lovely walks with a wooded area, a sunken garden with outdoor chess, a wildlife pond, rockeries and perennial beds. Colourful rhododendron and azaeleas appear in late spring and sporty types can enjoy the tennis court. Consall is a place where you can find peace and tranquility in amazing countryside, yet you are no more than 20 minutes away from towns, cinemas and shopping should you want them. More details about the Old Cinema, Consall The main house was built in 1950 and the owner added a home cinema and showed his own films regularly. It had a projection room and even had proper cinema seats. The second owner turned the 3 levels into a one bedroomed flat and we have updated it for your enjoyment. Come and try it! Our accomodation has one double bedroom which is brightly furnished and has plenty of storage space, with 2 fitted wardrobes and a large chest of drawers. Although small, the kitchen area has everything you would need to cook a meal. The microwave doubles as a convection oven and grill and there is also an induction hob, toaster and kettle. Extraction fans are fitted in both kitchen and bathrooom. An immersion heater gives ample hot water for baths or a shower and the appartment is centrally heated. An electric fire in the lounge gives extra warmth if needed. All bed linen and towels/tea towels are provided as are cleaning materials, crockery and cooking utensils. The large lounge contains a comfortable sofa bed which can sleep 2 people, a leather reclining chair and a dining table for 4 . A TV and a music centre is available for your entertainment along with books and games. Attached to the appartment is a games room housing a snooker table and darts board. We are sorry that we cannot welcome pets. We have dogs, ducks, chickens and pheasants for you to enjoy. Smoking is not allowed in any of our rooms and washing and drying facilities are available at a small charge. A welcome pack can be ordered from us as can an occasional breakfast. We welcome wedding guests from Consall Hall Gardens who do not wish to travel home after a reception and a special deal has been arranged for a one night stay with breakfast. You will have your own entrance, porch and parking spaces. Picnic tables and barbecues are available so that you can eat outside and enjoy the panoramic views. As we have 2 areas of deep water we would advise guests that small children must be constantly supervised. We have a trampoline and various games that are all used at the guest's own risk. The paths around the garden are often steep with steps and so are unsuitable for the disabled although there is reasonable wheelchair access to most parts of the upper garden. There is plenty of parking and vehicles can be parked right outside the entrance. We hope all guests have an enjoyable time in this beautiful area and will do all we can to facilitate this. We are here to help you to have a peaceful and comfortable break. Come and try Consall valley - let nature do its work.
