Nestled in the historical center of the city, La Moutière is an “auberge” dating the 18th century. Restored in the recent past, it is now a Bed & Breakfast & self catering "gite" offering its harmoniously decorated interior and gardens to its guests. But what you one should know, is that La Moutière has a unique past. In 1947, what used to be an old restaurant, was bought by Parisian, Maurice Carrière, whom very quickly turned it into a very famous hotel and restaurant and THE place to be. La Moutière welcomed celebrities such as : Simone Signoret et Yves Montant, Ava Gardner, the Shah, Grace Kelly & the prince of Monaco, Orson Wells, Queen Elisabeth, Jean Cocteau and many others.
