'Welsh Cottage' 259 - Glan Gwna Holiday Park Glan Gwna is a holiday village on the edge of Snowdonia, near Caernarfon, comprising of a variety of accommodation styles in a landscaped 200 acre park land at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, approximately 1.5 miles outside Caernarfon. The park is tastefully laid out with a large fishing lake, woodland walks and the River Seiont meandering its way through the estate. There is also a large fishing lake on the park with attractive waterfall allowing excess water to flow back into the river and stream. The Amenities The fishing lake is very popular with Anglers who also have the choice of river fishing on the park. Fish available include Carp, Tench, Roach, Rudd & Bream. NRA licences and site fishing permits are required - full details are available from the park upon request. The park now has a gym with daily or weekly rates available for visitors. There is also a beauty salon on site. A small shop selling milk. papers etc is also available although opening hours may vary in quiter periods. A bigger shop selling papers, food etc is also available at the Shell garage in Caethro - turn left outside the park and it's on right near the roundabout after a few hundred yards. Most of the usual supermarkets are also available in Caernarfon itself. Free entry to the poolside bar is available to all hirers (open weekends and busier weeks only). The bar enjoys a family atmosphere with a separate adults only section. The poolside bar also serves food until about 8.30 most nights.This has been significantly upgraded in recent years. The take away shop is usually open in main holidays only and when closed take aways are usually available from the Poolside bar. Dogs are allowed in the bar after food service finishes for those taking their pet. The heated outdoor swimming pool is open from Whit-week until early September. The Accommodation comprises a three bedroom terraced property known on the park as 'Welsh Cottages'. These are built as three blocks, six in each, of terraced cottages each painted in pastel shades and having own small front lawn and parking space. The property continues to benefit from ongoing upgrades with the bathroom re-fitted in 2011 and the kitchen re-fitted in 2010. Externally the porch roof was upgraded in 2011 and the large shrubs outside of the property have now been removed with the outside also re-painted at the front. A new bench also provided for use by our visitors! In recent years all bedrooms have been re-decorated, new heaters fitted, laminate flooring fitted, new stair carpet fitted and double glazing and new UVPC front door installed. The lounge is currently furnished with a three piece suite, large coffee table (also suitable for dining) and a flatscreen TV with Freeview and integrated DVD. Heating is available from an electric fire. A small selection of books/games/dvd's are also available. The bathroom/toilet is also situated downstairs and is fitted with a new white suite and has an instant electric shower, wall heater and heated towel rail. The kitchen is also fitted out to a good standard. The main cooker now operates off gas whilst there are also the usual fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettle etc. A breakfast bar is available in the kitchen with outdoor table/chairs also supplied for those dining outside in the warmer weather! The Bedrooms There is one bedroom with a double bed, one with twin beds and a third with a fluton style bunk bed bed - this may be replaced by a single bed in early 2012 thus reducing max occupancy to 5 persons. Duvets, balnkets and pillowcases are supplied although hirers are asked to take their own bed linen i.e. duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases. All bedrooms have ample wardrobe and cupboard space and are fitted with electric heaters. Pets - We do allow guests to bring well behaved pet dogs with them on the basis that they have their own bedding and are not allowed on the furniture etc. nor are they left unattended in theproperty for long periods.
