36 Cartmel Close - Lakelands Holiday Park Lakeland Leisure Park is situated at Moor Lane, Flookburgh. This is about 7 miles from Grange-over-Sands and within easy reach of the Southerly Lakes such as Windermere, Coniston & Tarn Hows. Other popular local attractions include Hawkshead, Grizedale Forrest Visitor Centre, South Lakes Wildlife Park at Dalton, Furness Abbey, Holker Hall & Gardens (inc Lakeland Motor Museum), Laurel & Hardy Museum (Ulverston), Dove Cottage (Grassmere) and the Haverthwaite Steam Railway. Whilst access by road is recommended the nearest station is at Cark around 3 miles away and buses run from the nearby village of Flookburgh. The park has a wide range of recreational/leisure facilities including indoor & outdoor swimming, family club, bars, restaurant, amusements, bowling (all-weather), children's play areas, tennis, golf and a large sports field for football, basketball, archery etc. A 9 hole golf course (Par 36, 2,760 yards) and pitch and put are available on site - hire of clubs etc available The park also runs a 'Bradley Bear' club with organised events for youngsters. There is a Spar shop on albeit for main shopping it's worth a trip to the Booths supermarket at Ulverston (after which the fitter ones may fancy a walk up to the Hoad Monument if it's a nice day...). Please note that leisure passes are not included in our prices & are as per the Haven Holidays brochure. Passes can now be purchased upon arrival at the park from the reception office. The choice is yours - if you wish to use the facilities a lot they are good value - if you prefer to go out and about they may not be worthwhile or possibly a short-term pass is the better option? On the site we are located away from the Leisure Centre on a quiet close which is just a short walk away from the tennis courts. It's a few minutes' walk to the leisure centre but the more spacious layout & quieter surroundings more than make up for this. Our caravan is an Atlas Solitaire Model. Whilst having only two bedrooms its superior specifications mean that it is much more spacious. We have warm air heating as well as double glazing giving guests a much higher quality of comfort. There is a pull out extra bed in the lounge for those with up to 5 in their party. The caravan has been well looked after and is used regularly by the owner and family so we keep a regular check on things during the year. The main bedroom has ensuite facilities and the second bedroom (below) has adjoining toilet/bathroom making it of similar, if slightly smaller quality. The lounge is spacious and has an integrated dining area. The kitchen is also fitted out to a good standard. The main cooker operates of gas whilst there are also the usual microwave, toaster, electric kettle etc. Externally we have extended and upgraded the sun deck area giving a comfortable outdoor dining and BBQ area. Bedding (duvets/pillows) is supplied for up to 6 guests although you will need to bring your own bed-linen (i.e. duvet covers/pillowcases/sheets). Apart from the kitchen all areas are carpeted with each room also having cupboard space/wardrobes. We do allow guests to bring well behaved pet dogs with them on the basis that they have their own bedding and are not allowed on the furniture etc. nor are they left unattended in the caravan for long periods. An additional charge of £15pw is made for pets unless the self clean terms are taken in which case the surcharge will be waived.
