This stone built house has loads of character, having been carefully restored to retain all its original features such as oak beams, open fireplaces and the original bread oven, dating from the 1850's, in the wall of what is now the kitchen. The whole house is furnished in keeping with its character, but has all the modern elements like Wi-Fi connection and a flat screen 51" TV with surround sound and Sky. The garden is on 2 levels and has stunning views over the surrounding countryside with several terraces for eating, sunbathing or relaxing and enjoying some spectacular sunsets over a glass of local wine. There is lighting on dusk to dawn timers, so you can enjoy sitting out on hot summer evenings. On one level there is a large dining terrace with table and chairs under a gazebo facing west over the countryside on one side for those sunsets, while on another side it overlooks the 10m x 5m oval pool, which has Roman steps at one end. The pool has a wide surround, with sun-loungers and umbrellas for relaxing. We also provide beach towels. Adjoining this is a bar and barbecue area with a fridge, table and chairs for post swim refreshment. The bar is equipped with plastic plates and glasses for safe use around the pool area. The second level overlooks the pool and has a lawn and another terrace with an ornamental fountain. This terrace enjoys all round views. Inside, the property has 3 large double bedrooms that all look out over the valley. They are equipped with ceiling fans for hot summer nights and have pull down mosquito screens at the windows. Bedroom 1 also overlooks the garden to one side. It has a double bed, wardrobes etc, it’s own washbasin and a TV for playing DVDs. Bedroom 2 has a romantic, lace draped, king-sized wrought iron four-poster bed, wardrobes etc. and a fireplace with coal effect electric fire. Bedroom 3 has a double bed with draped mosquito net plus two single fold out beds suitable for children. These can be moved to the other bedrooms as needed. There are also wardrobes etc, a fireplace with coal effect electric fire, a large shower and a portable TV for playing DVDs. Bedrooms 2 & 3 open out onto a terrace with a table & chairs and access to the garden. The luxury split level family bathroom has a stone clad corner bath with shower attachment, a separate large, walk in shower, washbasin, W.C, bidet and heated towel rail. The kitchen has a large pine table with 6 chairs, a Rangemaster double oven gas cooker, double sink drainer, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster, coffee maker, electric can opener, food steamer. A selection of herbs and spices and cookery books is included for the gourmets on holiday. It opens onto a traditional vine covered courtyard with table and chairs, which is a great place for breakfast. The dining room and lounge both have open fireplaces with wood burning stoves. The dining room has an extending dining table with 6 chairs and a food warming trolley. The lounge has a settee and chairs and a flat screen wall mounted 51” TV with surround sound, DVD player and Sky TV. A selection of books, board games, CDs and DVDs is included. A small utility room containing a washing machine is accessed from the garden and has a W.C and small washbasin, making it perfect for use when eating outside or enjoying the pool. We want you to enjoy your stay in our home, so we provide some extra touches such as a hair dryer and 2 bath robes in each bedroom, some essential toiletries - shower gel, shampoo, cotton wool pads etc, also beach towels for use around the pool. A selection of basic groceries will be there on your arrival so you can settle in without having to rush straight out to the supermarket - plus a bottle or two of local wine to introduce you to French life. For children, we provide a box of toys, plus a wide range of other children’s equipment is available on request – high chair, buggy, cot, car seat, etc.
