Second Floor - Lounge The lounge has 2 armchairs, a sofa-bed (4ft6in double), a chest of drawers and a coffee table. Wall mounted electric heater. There is a delightful view from the lounge window over the vineyard, across Loubes-Bernac church steeple to the Chateau Theobon and hillside beyond. For entertainment we have provided a TV with and DVD player (does not receive satellite TV or French TV) and a small selection of DVDs, books and games. With electric heating in each room the windmill is suitable for low season holidays. Outside: The windmill has its own swimming pool for your sole use with a sunny poolside patio. The pool is 8mx4m with a depth of c.1.3m throughout which makes it suitable for swimming and ideal for pool volleyball, pool games and for children. The windmill is set in its own private garden which has pretty views on three sides, several large shady trees and covers a quarter of an acre. The garden has a permanent fully equipped BBQ and plastic furniture comprising a dining table and chairs, reclining armchairs, sun loungers. Linen, Services and Bedding Provided: All bed linen, bath towels, kitchen towels and bathmats are of a high quality and are provided for your stay and are included in the rental price. Please note that you will need to bring your own swimming towels with you. For holidays of more than one week the price includes a bed linen, towels and bathmat change. We provide 2 pillows per person and All Seasons duvets i.e. a 4.5 Tog and a 10.5 Tog that together make a 15 Tog. Visitors Compliments: We were in need of rest, relaxation, peace, good food and drink and beautiful surroundings, and that is certainly what we found in the delightful Moulin We thoroughly enjoyed the charm and character of the Moulin. We thought the pool was fantastic and we found lots of lovely places to explore. Lovely to meet the owners who could not have been more helpful. Please Note: The windmill has lots of character but the interior is compact and open-plan. Parents and others should note that the stairs have a rope hand-rail along the wall side and are open to the other side. After carefully considering the nature of the windmill, we don't think this is a suitable holiday home for the under 5s or for anyone who finds stairs difficult. Please also note that this is a no smoking property and that we cannot accept pets. The Village and Local Amenities: The windmill is situated on a rural cul-de-sac at the edge of Loubes-Bernac village which has its own Post Office, Village Shop selling groceries and essentials (open daily, hours vary), and the locally well-renowned Chez Nelly Bar/Restaurant/Pizzeria all within 5 minutes walk. There is a public phone box in the village and mobile signals can be received at the Windmill. Within a half hour drive there are several large supermarkets (conveniently located on the outskirts of nearby towns), the nearest petrol stations and banks with cashpoints. Travel Options: By air: Fly into Bergerac with Ryan Air or Flybe from various airports. Bergerac Airport is only 30 mins drive away. Alternatively Bordeaux Airport is 90 mins drive away. We have found that the earlier you book with the cheap airlines the lower the price - but its always worth comparing prices with British Airways. There is car hire available from most of the usual providers at Bergerac and Bordeaux and we suggest you pre-book this. By car: The journey is about 560 miles from Calais. It is approximately 8-9 hours driving time if you travel via Paris. There is an alternative route to the west avoiding Paris adding c.40 miles. For those living in the North the overnight ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge is a convenient way to get to France. It is about 8 hours driving time from Zeebrugge via Paris. Additionally, there is the Brittany Ferries overnight service with a driving time of about 7 hours from ports. By train: You can take the Eurostar from London Waterloo (or Ashford in Kent) to Lille changing there onto the TGV to Libourne, which is about one hours drive away. Cars can be hired at Libourne Station, again it is best to pre-book this.
