Property Details of Provence Villa
Villa Berengere is a single storey provencal villa located on the outskirts of the village on a south-facing hillside with superb views south across to the valley to the Luberon mountains. The villa has its own private garden, terraces and pool which enjoys magnificent panoramic views over the Luberon valley to the mountains beyond.
The house is built with all the rooms opening out onto the terrace. One end of the terrace has a covered area for outdoor eating for which tables and chairs are provided. There is a large living/dining room with a Provencal fireplace for open log fires. Opening off the dining room is a fully fitted modern kitchen with oven, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The living room opens out at the front of the house on to the large terrace overlooking the pool. There are three charming bedrooms, one twin, one double and a further double with ensuite bathroom. There is an additional shower and toilet. All the bedrooms are attractively furnished and all open out on to the terrace. The house sleeps 6 ? up to 8 with the use of a sofa bed in the living room. There are electric heaters for the cooler months and a television and telephone are provided. A barbecue is also provided.
The south-facing terrace is secluded and has a panoramic view over the whole of the Luberon mountain range. Chairs and tables are provided for eating out. A paved area with lots of sunbathing space surrounds the swimming pool. In our experience swimming in April is only for the very hardy and the pool is open from May to end September.
Bed linen and towels are provided and also a cleaner for the end of your stay.

Local Area DetailsThe Parc Naturel du Luberon is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty in southern Provence. Bounded to the north by the Vaucluse plateau and to the south by the Grand and Petit Luberon mountains the Luberon valley is a picturesque landscape of vineyards, orchards and lavender fields enhanced by the famous hilltop villages of Gordes, Roussillon and Menerbes to name but a few.
Villa Berengere is located just under 1km from the picturesque village of Roussillon "un des plus beaux villages de France? situated in the centre of the Luberon valley. Roussillon is famous for its unique red ochre cliffs and the area is surrounded by pine trees, vineyards and cherry orchards. The village has two several restaurants and bars, a bakers, small supermarket and a butcher. There is an excellent local vineyard called Chateau Blanc just outside the village where good quality Cotes de Luberon and Cotes de Ventoux wine can be bought at very reasonable prices.
Further afield, the attractions of Avignon, Aix, St. Remy, Nimes, Orange and Arles are all within easy exploring distance with the beaches of the Cote d?Azur and the Camargue accessible within around 2 hours via the Autoroute. The nearest airport is Marseille - approximately one hours drive from Roussillon. To drive by autoroute from Le Havre is around 10-12 hours.
If you visit the area in July or August and all you wish to do is lie in or around the pool soaking up sun and the magnificent view the view this is a lovely place to do just that but other times of the year are just as beautiful. Springtime is delightful with the cherry orchards in full bloom, the lavender fields look beautiful in June and early July and in September/October the ?vendage? begins. This area is renowned for its sunshine days and blue skies all year round.

| The rent includes all services except telephone charges. Heating is charged extra between 1 November and 30 March. A cleaning lady is provided for the end of your stay. We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. A refundable damages deposit of ?370 is payable by separate cheque. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. In order to clean and check the house we ask guests to arrive after 16.00pm and to leave by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.
In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance that covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
