THE HOUSE has the feeling of being on high ground as the living area is on the first floor amd overlooks rural countryside. It is light and spacious. Stone steps lead up to the main front door and into the living area with comfortable seating and great Cantou fireplace. The dining area, looking over the garden and into the colourful kitchen can also be used for sitting and relaxing whilst food is being prepared. the study/3rd bedroom with shower room ensuite has agraden view and can be a cosy retureat. The kitchen leads on to a small balcony with steps leading to the garden and car parking area and along to the terrace. Throughthe garden gae thee is a small orchard with fruit trees and wonderful views to the Mondiere.
LOCATION brive la Galliarde is just 20 minutes drive with main line train services to Paris and Toulouse. The A20 Autoroute, junction 52, is 20 minutes away. Limoges Airport is 1 hour to the North and Toulouse ASirport 2 and a half hours to the South. The house is just a few kilometres from the attractive little market town of Meyssac which has all facilities for shopping including a national supermarket, bank hotel restaurant and several bars. There is a market twice a week in Meyssac with many local producteurs specialising in France's finest foie gras, confit de canard, cabecou cheese and wine from the Cahors region. The aea is espescially famous for its walnut harvest, vin de noix and golden walnut oil
Local Area DetailsPLACES TO VISIT Collonges La Rouge with its distinctive red stone,is one of the Beaux Villages of France, of which there are several nearby. The hilltop village of Turenne with its soft grey turreted houses. Martel with seven towers close to the River Dordogne where canoeig and swimming are a must. there is plenty of scope for walkers and hikers. The renowned Golf Clubs of Souillac and Aubazine are just 30 minutes away. The Lace de Causse is a mecca for children and provides a huge variety of water sports as well as a sandy beach. Sarlat with wonderful Renaisance Mansions is approximately 40 minutesdrive as is Rocamadour and famous Caves of Lascaux and Padirac.In July and August there are evening markets, concerts, brocantes, and local exhibitions to vist as well as Chateaux.
