Our restored farmhouse, abandoned for thirty years is now a family-run country house offering bed and breakfast with full restaurant, serving the best in local produce and wines. You will also be surprised to learn that Le Marche is serviced by low cost airline, Ryan Air who fly in direct from Stansted to Ancona and Pescara. Alitalia fly from Heathrow to Ancona with a change usually in Milan, and. BA have routes from Gatwick to Bologna or Rome, although the drive this end will take longer. FACILITIES
Bedrooms

The en-suite bedrooms are spacious, some with original marble tiles and furnished simply with beech furniture, mosquito nets and fans for summer months. There are views from the rooms over the surrounding countryside – beautifully manicured fields and the mountains –there’s even one with a skylight to gaze at the stars. There are five double rooms and one single, with two doubles able to accommodate two extra beds and two bedrooms able to cater for one extra bed each, making them ideal for families or single sex parties.

Bathrooms

The bathrooms are tiled and equipped with pulsating power showers and hairdryers.

Lounge & Dining Area

There is a spacious dining room with bar and lounge area set next to the restaurant terrace, overlooking the pool and mountains.

Outside

Tables & chairs, sun-loungers & swinging chair are provided. The kidney shaped pool is surrounded by cotto tiles and a grassed area. There are shady areas for those not wishing to indulge in sunbathing and gazebos on the tiled terrace to provide a little more shade, plus many fruit, olive and walnut trees. Ongoing landscaping will provide more seating areas, a vegetable garden and a rose walk during 2005/2006.

Local Area Details

Discover the nearby delightful hilltop, medieval town of San Ginesio, with walls and gateways intact, designated a place of historic interest and referred to by La Repubblica national newspaper as “Un piccolo borgo delizioso��? a delicious little place. In the piazza you can watch the world go by, enjoy the locals parading - there’s even a battle re-enactment and the incredible spectacle of the Pallio on August 15 th, with medieval costumes, jousting and feasting. We are close to Sarnano with its ‘Centro Storico’ an amazing restored old town set on the round, there’s Macerata with its open air opera theatre offering the best in Italian Opera from July to August and the main city of Ancona with its historic port, leper colony and theatre, just over an hour away. There’s fabulous restaurants serving everything from local meats to the freshest seafoods and if you are brave enough a seven course set meal!

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

as villa sibil As Villa Sibillini is some 2000 feet above sea level we enjoy a light colling breeze in summer months and fresh clean air. Winters can be harsh with snow usually from January to March and the nearby ski resort of Sassotetto provides many blue runs - see our web site www.villasibillini.com NEWS/INFO page - skiing in Marche. For guests coming in winter months we suggest that you bring slippers and warm jumpers as the old farmhouse has marble floors which can be cold, despite the central heating.

About Scenery/Beauty Spots

The Sibillini Mountains are just 20 minutes away and are host the the fabulous Lake Fiastra fed by mountains streams. From Sassotetto you can sea as far as the Adriatic coastline on a clear day. A day at the Furlo Gorge and Frassassi Cave are a must - with one of the largest grottos in Europe, and displaying stalactites and stalagmites.

About Local Attrcations

Each small town has a number of attractions during the year, with San Ginesio's Battle of Fornarina on 31st July and the Pallio on 15th August. In nearby Macerata Opera is performed during July and August at the open air opera theatre. Ancona has a number of special buildings from Napoleonic Forts to the old Leper Colony now a museum and overlooking the port you will find one of the oldest churches in Italy. At Loreto there is the crib said to have been Jesus' and carried there by the Angels.

We are fortunate to have several good restaurants locally,and for fish lovers there are many great places along the coast.

About Driving

When driving in Italy its necessary to have dipped headlights on at all times. You should also carry a warning triangle and carry a reflective jacket. During winter months, ask for snow chains from your car hire provider

About Shopping

You will find several designer outlets within half an hour and we are able to organise guided shopping trips. There are also many markets and one for shoes and hadnbags on Saturday mornings at Civitanova
