bay tree cottage was built around 1760 and is constructed from traditional brick and clay batt with a thatched roof. Many of the original beams can be seen in the walls. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin room sleeping a total of four guests. A travel cot is also available for our younger guests. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. It has a cooker, microwave, refrigerator and washer/dryer. You can enjoy meals indoors or in the small courtyard garden during summer months.

Local Area Details

bay tree cottage rests at the heart of the traditional English village of Bourn in Cambridgeshire. Bourn is eight miles South West of Cambridge. It is ideally located to visit the region’s top tourist attractions such as Wimpole Hall, Duxford, American Cemetery and of course the city of Cambridge. Bourn itself offers one of the oldest Windmills in the country, some wonderful architecture dating back hundreds of years and beautiful public footpaths to explore the countryside. Bike hire is available at a minimal extra cost. The village has a church and a local shop/post office which stocks most things. Both are a minute away from bay tree cottage. There are also two public houses, one with an excellent restaurant.
