Resort: At 2300 m Val Thorens is the highest holiday resort in Europe. It is situated at the end of the Belleville valley, 46 km south of Moutiers. Bus service from Moutiers. Val Thorens offers all facilities for fitness training. The ultra-modern tennis centre has 6 indoor courts, 2 squash courts, golf training simulator, indoor pool, whirl-pool, gymnasium. Animation programme and numerous events. Child-minding service. Discos, cinema.
Val Thorens offers a large skiing area, 120 km of ski runs, 29 ski lifts (cable cars, chairlifts and 5 drag lifts). And if that's not enough: Val Thorens belongs to the "Trois Vallees" skiing area with 600 km of downhill runs and almost 200 ski lifts. Best suited to intermediates and advanced skiers. Snowshoe walking, trips on snowmobiles. Compulsory car/park (open and covered) 100 m before the village (extra - approx Frf 280 to Frf 380 per car per week). Private cars are only allowed to the apartments to load luggage. Bus service throughout the village
