Mountain View Loft Condo in heart of town Canada

Condo in Alberta, Canada

Property Details of Alberta Condo

Mountain view, loft condominium in the heart of Canmore. Units are furnished with comfort and that rugged mountain feeling in mind. The pine trim, heated slate floor, soft rugs, and river rock fire place, are a perfect accent to the majestic views.

A full kitchen (including dish washer) in the units along with a BBQ for those wishing to eat in. A number of in town grocery stores are within walking distance. The IGA right next door is being expanded to a super grocery store stocking items well beyond your average store.
A four piece bathroom (some units have 2 full baths), bedroom, dining room, family room and balcony complete the main floor.

The featured unit's family room has a 43" HDTV connected to cable TV. It also has a DVD player (there are some DVD movies in the room). There is also a Microsoft XBox (with some popular games to play). Also in the room are a number of books about the area (hiking trails, wildlife, etc.).

located between the quaint downtown Main Street and Bow Valley Trail it couldn´t be more in the centre of things. Main Street is picturesque, mountains looming in the background with local restaurants, shops and recreation stores to explore. Bow Valley Trail runs parallel to the Trans-Canada Highway; as such it has fast food restaurants, convenience stores, hotels/motels and gas stations.

Canmore Crossing will be the largest retail center (retail on the first level, residential on the top 3 levels) in the Bow Valley. The residences encircle a European style marketplace of boutiques, restaurants and recreation activities. Already all of the regular amenities are either onsite (food, liquor store, fitness area ¸ I guess for when it rains because otherwise you´ll find me in the mountains) or within a couple minutes walk (IGA, pharmacy, video store, post office). Coming soon is one of Alberta´s top rated restaurants, the only movie theatre outside of Banff, and Gold´s Gym.
From the heated underground parking, through the on site security, up to the mountain view hot tub on the roof there is a modern feel in a classic mountain setting.
Within minutes you can be out the door, skiing and/or enjoying nature or sitting on the patio of one of Alberta´s best restaurants.

Local Area Details

The Town of Canmore and Surrounding Area
The town of Canmore is located in Alberta, Canada. Nestled in the Southern Canadian Rockies, minutes from Banff National Park, Kananaskis Country (Bow Valley Provincial Park, Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park), and the new Bow Valley Protected Area.

For someone looking for outdoor activities this is the place. For someone looking for clean mountain air, relaxation and some of the world's best scenery this area has it all.

To get back in to the thick of civilization Calgary is only an hour away by car and the closest International airport.

At 11,000 residents and growing it is small enough to provide a view of rugged mountain life, yet large enough to offer a full suite of amenities. It is one of the fastest growing resort areas in North America. If you haven't been to Canmore yourself you may have seen it in Legends of the Fall, Shanghai Noon or one of the various other movies that used the area for filming.

The little chunk of western Canada which forms the Canadian Rockies occupies a land mass approximately the size of England. Access to a car will give you freedom and the ability to really tour the area. A car isn't mandatory though. A person could land at Calgary international airport and find transportation out to Canmore. Once in Canmore, a bike can be rented during the summer, you can take a taxi around town or to the airport, and there are plenty of guided tours to take advantage of.

A fantastic drive is to head up to Jasper, Alberta along the Icefield Parkway. Keep in mind though that this trip takes around 3.5 hours one way without stopping. It should also only be done between Spring and Fall when all roads are open. Between Lake Louise and Jasper there are only 2 building both closed in the winter. Don't despair, there are still lots of activities to do in the southern Rockies during the winter especially for skiers (see the activities section).
