A delightful house on a small private gated development in the historic town of Vaison la Romaine. The house has private parking and garden with patio and pergola and use of a large shared pool. There are superb views of the Provencal countryside and vineyards and Mont Ventoux. The house is fully equipped for a family of 4 to self cater. The rental cost is fully inclusive of electricity etc except during the winter months when a surcharge may be applied.
Local Area DetailsVaison la Romaine is in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone wine area and at the foot of the famous Mont Ventoux. Perfect for walkers and cyclists and only 1 hour away from the Ardeche Gorge. The towns of Carpentras, Avignon and Orange are within easy reach, as is the south coast and Marseille. There are many Roman ruins and an amphitheatre in Vaison, which is still used today for musical and theatrical productions. The whole town is overlooked by the ruined castle and medieval town on the hill. There is a gallo-roman bridge spanning the river. The town has many bars, cafes and fine restaurants, all within walking distance of the house. On Tuesdays, the whole town is taken over by the most fabulous Provencal street market. There are also many shops, 3 supermarkets and countless boulangeries.
