Our well maintained and affordable 'Molokai 207' vacation rental accommodation at Molokai Shores condos is ideally located along the island's sunny southern shoreline just over a mile east of Kaunakakai. Our fully furnished rental condo features a living room with a Queen sofa bed, telephone, cable TV, plug-in and wireless DSL internet access, DVD player, a combination radio and CD/tape player, and ceiling fan. Our condo also has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a full size bathroom with tub, shower, and vanity, and a bedroom with a Queen size bed, and a ceiling fan. Our condo also features a full length retractable shade screen on the lanai. The shade screen allows you to control the amount of morning sun entering the unit without obstructing the ocean views. And, our second-floor location in the "A" Building at Molokai Shores condos provides the best access to the ocean breezes that help the unit to stay cool.

The private lanai at our vacation rental condo at Molokai Shores condos provides a wonderful ocean view extending seven miles south from Molokai across the heart of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary to the island of Lanai. Our view also extends east from Molokai across the ancient Kaloko'eli fishpond and the Kaholi Channel towards the island of Maui. The beach is only a hundred feet from our lanai and is easily accessed from our condo. Our unit is located on the southern coast of the island often called "The Real Hawaii" because it still possesses its original rural character and friendliness.

Molokai Shores Condos is the only major condo accommodations facility in the Kaunakakai area of Molokai. Amenities include a swimming pool, laundry facilities, a florist shop, a barber/beauty shop, free parking, a golf putting green, shuffleboard, a picnic area with gas and charcoal barbecues, and benches for reading and taking in the ocean view. The Molokai Shores condos facility has four acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with an expansive grassed area leading to the beach and ocean.

Local Area Details

Our Molokai vacation rental condo at Molokai Shores condos is ideally located at the center of the island's sunny southern shoreline. Our rental accommodation is located just minutes from all the major attractions found on this beautiful and varied island. This includes those found in Kauanakakai and those found along the lush east side, the dry west side, the mountainous interior, and the highly varied north side of this rural, lightly developed island -- an island sometimes called the "The Old Hawaii" because the people of Molokai retain much of the natural spirit of aloha once common on all the islands.

Activities In Kaunakakai (population 2,745): This is Molokai's main town. It's located about 1.4 miles west of the condo (about a 30 to 35 minute walk). Do your shopping. Check out the visitor�s center. Drive or walk along the mile-long wharf. Arrange to go on a whale watching tour, sailing, deep sea fishing for Ahi, Mahi-mahi, Ono, Ulua, Kawakawa, and Pacific Blue Marlin, kayaking and snorkeling, diving, or on a sunset cruise. Enjoy a ferry ride to Maui in the morning and return in the afternoon. Make arrangements to go rifle or bow hunting for axis deer, wild boar, or spanish goats. Try the seafood catch-of-the-day at Molokai Pizza Cafe' at the turnoff for the wharf or enjoy island fresh breads, pastries, and cookies at Kanemitsu Bakery on Ala Malama Street. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Saturday Market including a booth that displays the creations of Linda Kanani Johnston, one of the island's prominent artists. Visit the Molokai Fine Arts Gallery.

East Molokai Activities and Attractions: Head east from Kaunakakai on Kamehameha V Highway (Highway 450). Explore a section of the coral reef you�ll be traveling beside � its the only barrier reef north of Australia. Take a ten minute walk or a short drive from our condo to dine at the open-air Oceanside Restaurant located a short distance beyond the Kalokoeli Fishpond. Go about a mile further to where the highway travels along the beach. Molokai born artist Keoloha Pa displays his work at his unassuming studio which is located on the mountain side of this section of the highway. His work involves Batik on wood and is not to be missed. After leaving his studio, drive to the Kawela area where you can turn left up a side road, pull over, and enjoy the views of Maui, Lanai, and Oahu. Observe 12 species of birds including two endangered species at the nearby Wildlife Refuge. Visit the old Kamalo Wharf area and look inland to enjoy the view of the Mt. Kamakou area. Stop at St. Joseph�s Church, built by Father Damien in 1876. Check out Smith-Bronte Landing. Stop at Pukoo Beach. Visit the Honouliwali Taro Patch Farm. Visit Iliiliopae Heiau. Swim or snorkel at Twenty-Mile Beach (conditions permitting). Arrange to go horseback riding. Drive the 8-mile stretch of the scenic one-lane road leading to Halawa Valley and Halawa Bay. Stop at the beach or arrange for a hike to the 250-foot Moaula Falls.

North Molokai Activities and Attractions: Head north from Kaunakakai on Highway 460. Turn right onto Kalae Highway (Highway 470). Stop to visit a coffee plantation, a macadamia nut farm, or a restored sugar mill and museum. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Kamualas Cookhouse in Kualapuu. Stop at the Hoolehua Post Office to Post-A-Nut. Play a 9-hole round of golf. Drive on to Kalaupapa Lookout. Gaze down at the Kalaupapa Peninsula and lighthouse and look eastward towards the highest sea cliffs in the world. Visit the Kalaupapa National Historical Park by mule, by foot, or by air . Picnic or hike at Pala�au State Park at the end of the road. Make advance arrangements with the Nature Conservancy to walk atop a boardwalk through the world's highest bog in the Kamakou Preserve at the top of Molokai or to visit the starkly beautiful Moomomi Sand Dunes Preserve on the northern edge of the island.

West Molokai Activities and Attractions: Head north then west from Kaunakakai on Maunaloa Highway (Highway 460) proceeding past the airport. Continue past the Kaluakoi Road cutoff to visit the town of Maunaloa. Shop for gifts, visit a museum, stop at a restaurant, buy a kite at the Big Wind Kite Factory, or take in a movie. Make arrangements to take a hiking tour of some of the most historic sites in West Molokai. Enjoy a downhill or offroad biking tour. Take a side trip to Haleo Lono Harbor and enjoy a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path view of the southern coastline. (Don't try this unpaved access road after a heavy shower!) Then, return to the Kaluakoi Road cutoff and drive to Papohaku Beach; at three miles in length, it's Hawaii's longest white sand beach. Play a round of golf at a nearby golf course. Drive south for great family swimming and snorkeling at Dixie Maru beach (conditions permitting).
