Our renovated cottage has its own private fenced gardens and is situated in the tranquil village of Louin, alongside the river Thouet. Located in Deux-Sevres, South West France it benefits from the tropical weather known to this area. The accommodation can sleep up to 5 people in three separate rooms.

Fish from our private grounds with the weir just a cast away. Enjoy catching "Wild " Carp of 30lbs and more, Pike, Bream, Perch, Zander, Roach, plus Trout when in season, also relish the thrill of battling with a big catfish.

A 14 foot fibre glass boat is available for use at no extra cost.

A superbly renovated 125 year old cottage retaining many of the original features of the building which was the old granary. The detached cottage offers large private fenced gardens with various fruit trees and space for above ground pool (upon request). Directly overlooking the river Thouet, this cottage is the premier location in the village of Louin.

The property consists of a large fully equipped kitchen/diner with French doors leading directly to the garden and patio area with barbeque facilities whilst enjoying views of the river Thouet. Look out for the Herons, Kingfishers and many other wild birds.

On the first floor there are two separate double bedrooms one with exposed beam and original stonework. There is also an area for a single bed if required.

The lounge has the original stone fireplace with insert log burner plus the original pottage (charcoal oven). Three piece suite, coffee table and television with DVD player.

The bathroom contains shower unit wash basin and w.c.

We are located in the small picturesque village of Louin in the Deux Sevres region Department 79 Louin and the surrounding villages have a rich vein of history going back in time some 16 centuries There are many local attractions to be seen and enjoyed such as the Chateaux in St Loup the 12th century Roman bridge and an ancient burial ground Only ten minutes drive away is Lac Cebron which is a large Nature Reserve hosting a variety of water fowl the ideal venue for walking picnics and bird watching Slightly further a field is the medieval walled town of Parthenay where you will find many interesting historic building Refresh yourself in one of the many bars cafes restaurants There is also retail therapy for the shopaholics in your party Lake Moncontour is approximately 20 kms away and offers a safe beach style leisure lake which is ideal for children In addition there are numerous renowned tourist attractions such as Futuroscope Le Parc Oriental a twenty nine acre Japanese garden The famed West Coast town of La Rochelle offers a great day out and is only 2 hours drive away To the north is the beautiful Loire Valley with its Chateaux river markets Troglodyte villages and water mills There also many vineyards where you can sample the local wines
