Masseria Il Moro, your home–from–home, set in the delightful Italian countryside near the seaside town of Ortona (province of Chieti) amid rolling vineyards and fragrant olive and peach groves, is conveniently situated at only 4 km from Ortona motorway exit, a 10 minutes drive away from the nearest beach and half an hour away from the Maiella mountains. Countryside, sea and mountains, all close by, without forgetting the sunshine! So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags straight away. There are direct flights to Pescara (just half an hour away) from many international airports: Stansted (London), Charlesroi (Brussels), Charles de Gaulle (Paris), Frankfurt Hahn (Germany), Eindhoven (Netherlands), Pearson International Airport (Toronto), to name but a few, and if you check regularly you might even find a low–cost fare.
The self–catering holiday home is a fully–furnished independent apartment of 80m² living space at road level, ideal for 6 (max. 8) that has bright, colourful, spacious rooms, central heating, double glazing, mosquito nets and shutters on all windows. There are three bedrooms, one is double and the other two can be either double or twin according to requirements. Two single airbeds can be added if requested. One bathroom with shower cabin, WC, bidet,washing machine and hair dryer. Kitchen/living area: Table seating 6⁄8 max. Gas cooker with oven and grill, refrigerator with freezer, Microwave with grill, toaster, electric kettle, iron and board. Small relax area in the hall seating 4.
Amenities at less than 1 km. away: supermarket, bank with ATM, bar-cake shop, bartobacconist, laundry, hairdressers, pizzeria, restaurant and various shops. There is a bus service to Ortona but a car is advised for greater freedom of movement. Not suitable for wheelchair users. For pets, please contact the owner. Open all year round festivities included.

Local Area DetailsTHE ADRIATIC SEA: Ortona has two main beaches, Lido Saraceni which is at the foot of the town and Lido Riccio few kilometres further up north, however almost all of the coastline is one uninterrupted beach where you can find your place in the sun. Shingle or sandy, quiet and secluded, or exciting and buzzing with activity, the choice is only yours.
THE MOUNTAINS: If you prefer the peace and quiet of regenerating walks in the cool silence of centuries-old woods then this is the place for you. In winter, you might want to have a go at skiing,toboganning and other sports on the slopes of nearby Maielletta (Passolanciano) or enjoy the view that the mountain offers in the summertime. On a clear day you can even catch sight of the Tremiti Islands or Mount Conero in the neighbouring region of the Marches.
NATURE AND WILDLIFE: Nature reigns supreme here in Abruzzo with its 4 National Parks amongst which Maiella National Park, over 30 nature reserves and wildlife oases constituting protected areas that take up approximately one third of the regions territory. This is why Abruzzo is known as the green region of Europe. The region is the home of approximately 75% of all of Europe's animal and vegetal species. The Marsican brown bear, Apennine wolf, Abruzzo chamois as well as many other animals are here, waiting for you. FOOD AND WINE: Foodies and wine enthusiasts will be in their seventh heaven amid our local production of Montepulciano,Cerasuolo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC(Controlled Designation of Origin)wines respectively red, rosé and white, together with the local food specialities and fares. An excellent extra-virgin olive oil is produced also in the area. Food festivals to whet your appetite are many during the summer often organized together with the exhibition and sale of handcrafted products.
