Maison Mailhac is a charismatic house built in 1510. It is situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Mailhac in the Minervois. The house is built around a stone spiral staircase and has been restored and decorated to preserve all original features where possible. The calm hues used in decor, linens and soft furnishings ensure a restful and restorative stay. All rooms feature terracotta floors and most have beamed ceilings. Our roof terraces are a wonderful place to relax with a coffee or glass of wine and watch the sun warm the village rooftops and surrounding vineyards as the swallows play among the alleys and chimney stacks.
Local Area DetailsWe are situated in the heart of the 'Minervois' wine country. The terrain is beautiful and the ideal place for walkers, cyclists and artists. We have an 'Epicerie' in the village which stocks all essential items as well as a Post Office and bar. Neighbouring villages are closeby and offer restaurants, pharmacies and stores. We are within seven kilometres of the Canal du Midi and well placed for the three large towns of Narbonne, Beziers and Carcassonne all of which are within a twenty to thirty five minute drive. The beaches of the Mediterranean are about forty minutes away by car and there is an abundance of history and architecture to marvel at including the renowned walled city of Minerve (some 15 minutes away) the Cathar fortresses at Queribus, Peyerpetreuse and elsewhere, the Abbeys at Frontfroide and Lagrasse and the Medieval Cite at Carcassonne. Combine all this with sampling the local wines and produce before returning to Maison Mailhac for a restful night and you will soon appreciate that there is much to offer.

| Our rates are based on each room per night including breakfast. Three of our rooms are double bedded and the fourth features three singles. Each room has its own en-suite facilities. We do offer a discount between Oct 1st and April 1st. We are able to offer a self contained gite which features one double bedroom and one bedroom with three singles, two bathrooms, kitchen, private balcony, independent entrance and shared roof terrace. Rates are on a sliding scale from Euros 85 for the first night to Euros 500 for the week. These rates do not include breakfast. |
