RIVERSIDE offers self catering holiday accommodation in the heart of the popular fishing village of Mevagissey, Cornwall.

The flat has its entrance in a courtyard accessed via an archway, where its off-road parking bay can also be found.

The accommodation is on the first floor of Riverside and is fully heated. It is most suitable for a couple, but the bedroom has a 4' 6" bed and a full size single complete with pillows, duvet and bedlinen. (Please bring your own towels for personal and beach use.) There is also a 2' 6" x 5' 9" guest bed stored under the single bed, which can be pulled out just at bedtime.
The bathroom has a bath, low-level WC and basin.

In the sitting/dining room there is a remote control colour television. The fully-equipped kitchen includes an electric cooker, kettle, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, washing machine, iron and ironing board etc. Electricity is included in the tariff.

The flat is available for you from 3.00 pm on your first day and should be vacated for changeover at 10.00 am on your last day. Keys are held in the village close to the flat.

Local Area Details

MEVAGISSEY village is known for its busy double harbour, fishermen's cottages, narrow streets, model railway, museum, many restaurants, pasty shops and pubs. It has a mini-market, greengrocers, cake and souvenir shops, post office and church. Passenger ferry boats go back and forth from Mevagissey to Fowey and fishing boats do hour and day trips from the harbour.

The coastal path is nearby, as are many lovely beaches, some with cafes and car parks, some quiet and owned by The National Trust. Portmellon, Gorran Haven, Vault, Hemmick, Caerhayes, Pentewan and Porthpean beaches are all within 5 miles of Riverside.

For garden lovers there are many gardens, some with teashops, including Trewithen, Trelissick, Trebah - with its own beach - and, of course, the spectacular Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

In St Austell, 5 miles away, there is a leisure centre, cinema, ten-pin bowling, brewery, the usual shops, China Clay Museum, and at Charlestown a Maritime Museum.

All the parks are within a short drive of my home, the nearest being the fantastic Walt Disney world resort.

About Airport Information

Orlando International is nearest and you will fly here if travelling with Virgin Atlantic or British Airways. A very large airport which takes a long time to clear. The majority of charters from the UK use Sanford International, about 50 miles away but so much smaller and quicker than OIA.

About Golfing

Championship golfing on the Highlands Reserve estate next door to Westridge.

About Beaches

The beaches of the Gulf coast are quite a drive away but are soft white sand with warm water

About Local Restaurants

Local restaurants are abound. Denny's is best for breakfast and Perkins for dinner.
