About Weather/Climate/Temperature
Galicia has a temperate climate, meaning no extreme temperatures
At the coast the temperature in summer reaches a maximum 25C and in winter it doesn't go under 5C.
In the interior it gets much colder and you will be able to find quality snow for skiing and snowboarding in the winter months.
The best time to visit is between May and September, April and October can be temperamental and the rest of the year is quiet wet.
About Beaches
Coastline: spectacular landscapes and wildness
In Galicia you can find more coastline and beaches than anywhere else in Spain,
a total of 1200 km of coastline and 750 beaches!
The coast is extremely versatile and you can find anything from tiny coves, sandy beaches, high cliffs to sheltered picturesque fishing ports and historic cities.
Topographically, a remarkable feature of Galicia is the presence of many fjord-like or firth-like inlets .These inlets, coves and bays are called rÃas.
There are also a great number of capes which have been formed by Atlantic ocean erosion.
The stunning, mostly completely deserted beaches are very diverse.
Some beaches are rough and wild with big waves and cold water and the more protected ones are serene lagoons- very shallow, calm and the water pleasantly warm.
All along the Galician coast are many archipelagos near the mouths of the rÃas. These archipelagos provide protected deep water harbours and also habitat for seagoing birds.
About Scenery/Beauty Spots
nland: lush vegetation and dramatic mountain views
The interior of Galicia is composed of relatively low mountains but they have served to isolate the rural population and discourage development.
Forests and fertile fields, small dwellings and long abandoned stone ruins make up the landscape.
There are also many rivers and Galicia has been known as "land of the thousand rivers".
Most run down relatively gentle slopes in narrow river valleys, though at times their courses become far more rugged
as for example in the striking canyons of the River Sil.
